This gem is an absolute must try! As soon as you walk in you feel relaxed - the atmosphere and decor are wonderful! And there's no dust anywhere to be seen... Often in a place with lots of nice decorations I tend to focus on the dust...I didn't see any here! The staff was so friendly and nice - she even gave us a complimentary iron man roll! Which was phenomenal!! It was so delicious! Highly recommend the Volvo Roll, also! The sushi tasted fresh, too! Iykyk!! 10/10 recommend and yes we will be back! The photos are of the iron man roll, and then on the big plate are the Volvo, Dancing, and Volcano Rolls.

This place gave my Hubby and I a Relaxing and yummy Date Night. 1st Dish: The Tofu soup with seaweed. The broth of the Tofu wasn't heavy yet it fulfilled our stomachs. We assumed that it was a palate cleanser because the food after was very flavorful 2nd Dish: Hubby had the Chicken katsu and Rice. From the first bite he knew he made the right choice. His face light up like it was Christmas day. Despite him struggling with the chopsticks to eat the rice he very much enjoyed his meal. 3rd Dish: I ordered sushi which was the Spicy Volcano Roll and California Roll. I was extremely satisfied when I tasted the Volcano Roll because IT WAS SPICY😆. So many other sushi places claim that their volcanoes were spicy when they were mild. But Yama sushi got the spicy sushi.So delicious. The California Roll very flavorful and smooth. It's like it was hugging my stomach from the inside. I also had a Mini Bottle of Dry Sake. So smooth and goes well with the sushi. Overall if you want a relaxing date night in a restaurant that gives off the vibe of the Anime Samurai Champloo then this the place for you. 5/5 Stars

The best sushi place in Chesapeake. My husband and I love it here and everything we've tried so far has been delicious. The staff is kind and food always comes fast and high quality. Cannot reccommend it enough.

Honestly just amazing. It’s got a quiet and peaceful atmosphere, but it’s pretty cozy as there’s not a ton of seating. They have some beautiful fountains, friendly and fast staff, and super tasty sushi. We started with the miso which was good. It had a stronger flavor that some other miso soups that I’ve had, which I appreciated. I had the dragon room and the pearl roll. In my opinion, the pearl roll (pictured on the right) was the star of the show. With an earthy flavor from the oyster paired with the sweetness of the cream cheese and crab, it was a beautifully balanced and plated roll. I will be coming back and bringing friends

Yama Sushi is a wonderful hidden jewel of delicousness. The atmosphere staff are delightfully pleasant, the food is simply awesome, well prepared, skillfully presented, and plentiful in quality and quantity. I have tried many sushi restaurants and Yama Shushi has become my most favored place to eat, relax, and enjoy a uniquely eastern vibe. My sincerest thanks to the owner and staff for providing a consistently wonderful experience each time I visit!
